Let me tell you about myself, my background and special training, and why you should hire me as your inspector for life. First of all... I was born in Michigan and we moved to the Big Rapids area when I was about 10 years old. My background is in the building trades from a young age. I have owned, worked on, and managed properties, and through hands on experience have come to know the faults and problems associated with construction. In addition, throughout our married life, my wife Tracy and I have worked together and overseen multiple building and construction tasks.

When my wife Tracy and I decided to move to Texas, our work focused on the Real Estate field. As we worked with clients, I saw first hand how my clients appreciated a good home inspector. Also, I came to appreciate a good inspector as a help to me as a Real Estate professional, because the location and price was my focus. Whereas, as a Realtor I saw issues and problems... the condition of the house was not  my focus, I left that to the inspector. Over time, I realized that all inspectors were not as helpful or dilligent as our clients needed. That was when and why I decided to become licensed to do home inspections. When we returned from Texas where we lived for three years, where I gained my license as a Professional Real Estate Inspector. When I looked into it, I was disappointed when I found that there are NO requirements to be a home inspector in Michigan. In fact, many people felt that it would be a waste of money... I was shocked, because we had learned first hand that a home inspection by a qualified inspector is one of the best investments a new homebuyer can make.

In the state of Texas, it is no small thing to become licensed as a Professional Real Estate Inspector. Later I found out that the requirements of the State of Texas are the highest in the country... I spent much time, money and effort to QUALIFY to become licensed. Also, it was a requirement to have E & O insurance to protect my clients. In addition, there are requirements by Texas to complete Continuing Education (called CE).

Currently I (David) am a licensed Professional Real Estate Inspector by the state of Texas, with the required E & O, and liability insurance. I keep my license active in Texas and continue to meet their exceedingly high requirements. I do continuing education, not just to meet the state requirements, but monthly training to keep up with the industry (some of the education certifications I have obtained are on the side bar). I have specialized tools for inspections, and pay for special software to create personalized inspection reports which can be downloaded to my clients via email once finished. And most importantly, I enjoy helping people to understand the condition of the home they have me inspect.

When you hire me as your inspector, I will use my specialized training, tools and background to help you to uderstand the condition of your home, potential developing problems and maintenance concerns. I will give you a report that will outline these findings with pictures. Further, I urge you to buy out some time after my inspection to allow me to show you in person what the pictures mean in real life, and if they are maintenance issues you can easilly correct and manage in the upcoming months and years... or if there are major structural, mechanical or health and safety related issues that you did not know about that should be considered and corrected.

When you decide that you would like me to be your inspector, you can call me months or years after an inspection with questions or concerns. In fact, it would be a good idea to consider a yearly inspection to focus on maintenance concerns and to make sure no health and safety issues have not crept up on you. Recently, two inspections uncovered multiple gas leaks that the homeowners were not aware of. They noted that it was bad enough that they were throwing money away because of bad valves or faulty equipment... their health and safety were the most important thing. They thanked me for my dilligence- I am their inspector for LIFE. I WANT TO BE YOUR INSPECTOR FOR LIFE, call me today to set up your appointment.
